Backstreet 's Back, Alright #BlogchatterHalfMarathon Day 9
Today, let me travel back to those wonderful days of simplicity, laughter, cracking jokes, and opening up our souls to our loved ones. Yes, let's travel back in time to the 90s.
My 90s remind me of my school days, sharing tiffin, fighting over who was the best Khan, laughing over our moms' reaction to low grades, and, of course, exchanging cassettes. From Hindi film songs like "Sajan", "Jo Jeeta Woh Sikandar", and "Baazigar" to Pop Bands like Boyzone and Backstreet Boys. Now, who remembers Backstreet Boys here? I do, and I do remember how crazy a few of us friends were for the band!
I still recall their foot-tapping numbers like "Everybody" and "Tell Me Why". Every time a friend spoke about breaking up with her boyfriend, back then, I played " Quit Playing Games with My Heart" at the back of my mind. Ah! It was her heart I meant, not mine. My score was zero in that department. At the most, I could lend my shoulder of support to them while listening to their sob stories of how, why and when the break-up happened.
Instead of getting myself into that game of catch-up, break-up, and time-up, I would rather invest my time in listening to " Show me the meaning of being lonely."
Now the question is, where is that group, Backstreet Boys? In fact, where are any of those Boy Bands that made us dance and fall in love and be there with us when we broke up? They had a huge influence on the growing-up years of an entire generation; we can't deny that. The craze of pop groups faded towards the mid-2000s, until recently. The new surge in popularity can be largely attributed to K-pop bands like BTS and Blackpink.
They have made a huge impact in Asia as well as the Western Circuits. That's good news, because as a Backstreet Boys fan, " I want it that way."
