 Continuing from last week , we will explore the baddies of Bengali films through the years. Here, I would like to confess that I had hardly watched any Bengali films of the 80s and 90s, so I have no idea about the villains of that era. I had almost stopped watching Bengali films until very late in 2010 when Srijit Mukherjee came into the foray with his Cop Universe.  So, from 2010 till date, these are the iconic villainous characters that Bengali movies have given us. 8. Bengali Films have been an integral part of Indian Cinema due to the presence of notable filmmakers. The presence of a villain in a film is mostly seen when the movie is categorized as an Action film. Of course, there are exceptions, like thrillers or crime films. However, Bengali movies often see a few spine-chilling villains from various genres of films. So today, let us dive into the Bad Men of Bengali films throughout the years: 1. Bengali films have given some of the finest works in Indian Cinema throughout the ages. Bengal has been gifted with noted filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Tapan Sinha and Budhadeb Dasgupta. In recent times, the legacy has been continued by contemporaries like Rituporno Ghosh, Srijit Mukherjee, and Anjan Dutt, amongst others. It is surprising that there are very few works of Shakespeare that have been adapted on screen in Bengal.
