"W" ater Bottle Bengali Movie Review #BlogChatterA2Z

It took me some time to find a Bengali film that starts with the letter "W." After numerous unsuccessful searches, I remembered watching a Bengali web series called "Water Bottle," which is fortunately available in movie format on YouTube. Directed by Tathagata Mukherji, "Water Bottle" is a psychological thriller.

Synopsis

The story begins with a chilling prologue by the notorious serial killer Ted Bundy: "We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere. And there will be more of your children dead tomorrow." This sets the stage for the viewer’s journey into the world of Jyotileswar, a serial killer who has cold-bloodedly murdered six children and takes pride in his actions. In fact, he even invites a writer to document the details of his killings.

The investigation is led by Mriganko, an eccentric yet brilliant cop, along with Subho, a newcomer in the police force, from a well-known political family. Together, they set out to solve the abduction of the six children. Will they catch Jyotileswar, or will they uncover even more disturbing truths behind the killings?

Review and Significance

"Waterbottle" is much more than just a serial killer mystery. It delves into the complex and troubled psyche of a highly disturbed individual whose true motives for killing innocent children are as intricate as the crime itself.

The performances of all the actors exceed expectations. Rajatava Dutta as Jyotileshwar brilliantly portrays his character's madness and inner demons, owning the screen in every scene he appears in. Chiranjit Chakraborty as Mriganko is also exceptional, and Suhotro Mukherji as Subho delivers a convincing performance.

The director has skillfully crafted the character of Jyotileshwar, who, true to his name, embodies a mystery filled with complexities. His obsession with the water bottles of the deceased children underscores the deep-seated childhood trauma he endured. While I won't reveal too much, I can assure you that this film is worth watching.
