The Story of a Wall #WriteAPageADay
Oh, that bamboo plant. It is tingling me once again. Can't she keep it a bit further! No, she is too busy dozing off in between work. She has those thick glasses on, and she thinks no one notices. Well, maybe, but she can't escape my eyes.
Oh no. What is she doing? Why does she have chocolate? That, too, secretly. She even kept the wrapper inside her purse so that nobody noticed. Whom is she trying to hide from? Isn't she diabetic? She always complains to her colleagues about not being able to have sweets and fries. Then why is this secrecy?
She has again put on her earplugs. I am sure she has lots of work. She listens to music whenever she has a lot of things to do. I wish I could hear that, too. Once I did, I know she loved to listen to Hindi Film songs from the 80s and 90s. I would have loved to listen to that, too. But I can not.
She keeps a photo frame in front of her all the time. Since I can see only the back of the frame, I am unsure what is in that! But I have found her looking into it through loving eyes. Sometimes kissing it. What secrets can that photo frame hold? I am going to find out today.
My target is the photo frame today. I am going to find out what's in it. She has already looked at it a number of times today. Here comes her colleague. Let me listen to their conversation.
" You are not leaving early today? "
" Yes, a couple more hours more, and I will leave. You won't be late in the evening."
" Oh sure, I will reach on time. I am more eager for this day than you can imagine." says her colleague, lifting up the photo frame.
" Time flies so fast and kids grow faster, look at her, all 13."
They were talking about somebody who is inside that frame. Wish I could move and see. Her colleague placed the photo frame on the table, but by mistake, it was placed with its front facing me. And voila, for the first time in so many days, I could see what's in the frame. There is a little girl with a toothless smile holding a red balloon.
"So, finally, you are a mom to a teenager. " her colleague announced while adjusting the frame properly at its place.
" Yes, I am happy and nervous at the same time. " she said with concern in her voice.
Let me guess, so the toothless toddler in the frame is turning 13 today. Hmmm, no wonder she keeps an eye on that frame all the time!! After all, she is her daughter.
