Top 5 Hindi Films about Kids to watch with Kids
A few weeks back, I was watching a film about a kid, along with my daughter. She loves that movie and generally watches it when they show it on TV (if she has time). She was complaining to me that why I don't write about more such films that are about kids and that she can also read. It struck my mind, and I decided to pen down a few such movies kids can watch with their families. Today, I will list some movies involving kids that kids can enjoy.
1. Mr. India (1987): A goon is after a big house, where Arun lives with a few orphan kids and his cook. He loves the kids as his own and gets furious when one of the kids dies. He finds a watch that his late father had invented and that can turn one invisible. Thus begins his journey of revenge and justice for the kids with the help of his reporter girlfriend. The first Hindi film that one can think about children is definitely this one starring Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Amrish Puri. Who can forget Arun's invisible funny acts and the villain Mugambo's devilish acts of terror! Directed by Shekhar Kapoor, this film had some superb songs by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
2. King Uncle (1993): A harsh and arrogant businessman who is bitter to the whole world, including his own family, is visited by an orphan girl who changes his entire life. Various funny sequences involving the young girl and the businessman are enjoyable. The powerful cast of Jackie Shroff, Shahrukh Khan and Paresh Rawal makes it quite a joyride despite some overdramatic scenes. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, it is a decent one-time watch.
3. Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke (1993): One of the best movies for kids has to be this film, directed by Mahesh Bhatt. A young man gets into a deep soup after he gets custody of his late sister's 3 kids and a dying factory. While he struggles daily to somehow manage the situation, a runaway bride joins the brigade to add to his already messed up state. However, her jovial presence slowly brings a positive change in the inmates of the house, and they start living happily. This film is an absolute entertainer with outstanding performances from Juhi Chawla and Amir Khan. The music by Nadeem Shravan is also absolutely refreshing.
4. Bhootnath (2008): This movie is about a kid who moves to a huge house along with his mother. Upon living in the house he discovers that it is haunted by the ghost of an old man who tries everything to scare them away. But the kid is adamant about befriending him and quite easily wins his trust; ultimately, both become best buddies. Together, they keep on carrying out various mischiefs and have a fun time. This film is quite enjoyable, especially due to the antics carried out by the ghost and the kid. The absolutely brilliant performances of Amitabh Bachchan and Aman Siddiqui will never let the audience get bored. The songs are quite peppy, too.
5. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015): If someone asks me what is Salman Khan's best film to date, I will reply with this movie. The film I started this post with, is this Kabir Khan directorial. Salman Khan was seen in a never-before-seen Avtar here, being the messiah of a little girl searching for her home. The beautiful story, the picturesque views, the smooth storytelling and the amazing cinematography- everything sums up to give a wonderful, entertaining experience. The performances of Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the little girl Harshali Malhotra are outstanding, and so is the music.
