The rains have brought a happy mood back, after a gruelling summer. So today, when I saw the topic "Decision Dilemma" on the Blogchatter Blog Hop, I could only think of a few songs that fit the theme. I often suffer from decision dilemmas. But anyway, today let's not talk about these serious matters and concentrate more on romance and its dilemma (nothing to do with me).
Here are 5 songs that immediately come to mind when we talk about Decision Dilemma in Love:
1. Kya Kare Kya Na Kare: If I am not mistaken, Rangeela was the first original Hindi album of AR Rahman, and what an album. Each song is composed in a different mood and perspective in the film. This particular song was picturized on Amir Khan, who was very fond of his friend, played by Urmila, but was afraid to express his feelings to her. Sung by Udit Narain, the song features some amazing expressive tones to convey an indecisive mood, matching the lyrics. Even the lyrics are so effective that they can instantly convey the background and nature of the character depicted.
2. Taram Pum Taram Pum: I cannot describe how much I used to love this song when I first heard it. Last week, I was watching the movie System, and Jyotika reminded me of this song. She had such a calming presence about her ( still has). Anyway, coming to this song, again A. R. Rahman and sung by Babul Supriyo, picturized on Akshaye Khanna, Ninad Kamat, and Suresh Menon, this is about a group of friends teasing a friend who is head over heels in love with a girl but knows nothing about her. I don't remember watching the movie, but the songs were very melodious.
3. Na Tum Jano Na Hum: I won't say much about the movie. I was the craziest fan of Hrithik Roshan for a long time. Anyway, Lucky Ali's voice in this song lifts the spirit. Rajesh Roshan's music, along with the stunning visuals and, of course, Hrithik Roshan, makes this song, again, about a man searching for a girl he saw somewhere.
4. Dilko Tumse: Roopkumar Rathode is one singer whom we can hear very rarely, but whenever we do, he gives the best that touches our hearts. This song, composed again by A. R. Rahman, was picturized on Saif Ali Khan. I don't remember much of the film's story, but all I can recall is that I liked Saif Ali Khan's character way more than the actual hero, R. Madhavan.
5. Tujh Me Rab Dikhta Hai: Roopkumar Rathode and Salim-Sulaiman's music, this song, movie and Shah Rukh Khan. What a combination! The lyrics by Jaideep Sahni are about a person absolutely smitten in love.
Marc was looking at the remnants of what used to be his vast villa once. He could see clouds of smoke forming in certain places. It was still hot out there, with fire fragments flowing all over. In front of the gate was a huge pile of broken items- some turned to ashes and some half-broken. He could see something shining through the pile. He approached near to find a partially broken framed photograph. He picked it up to find one half of a picture of a beautiful 25-year-old woman with wavy blond hair and dreamy hazel eyes- his Lucy. Fire - devastating, damaging & destructive! It has taken away all he has lived with for the last 5 years. Every object, every article, and every piece had been restoring Lucy's touch, her memories, and the feeling of her presence that brought life to all things inanimate. The garden where she grew her roses, the pool where she used to swim like a swan, all gulped by the deadly hunger of the forest fire!! Tears rolled down the 55-year-old's ag...
Every year, before the onset of Durga Puja, readers of Bengali literature receive some precious gifts in the form of the Sharadiya Pujabarshiki (Yearly Literary Magazine). For the past 70 years or so, we have seen some outstanding works from the Creme' of Bengali literature like Samaresh Basu, Sunil Ganguly, Shirshendu Mukherjee, Ashapurna Devi and many others being published in these magazines for the first time. This trend continues; this year, too, my husband gifted me a few such magazines before Durga Puja. Kishore Bharati is one of the magazines I got and today I picked a story called "Vaijayantimala" from that. for November's #TBRChallenge . About the Author: The author Bhaswar Chatterjee is a popular Film and Television actor who works predominantly in the Bengali Film Industry. He started his career as an actor in 1998 from television serials and later worked in Rajkumar Santoshi's The Legend of Bhagat Singh. In his elaborate career, spanning almost 30 y...
We have 2 schools near our house, and both are preparing for Sunday's Republic Day celebrations. Listening to the drum beats and patriotic songs feels so good. Yesterday, it was Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary. I remember watching an old movie based on his life a long time back. This made me wonder why not make a list of such patriotic Bengali films today. So, today, I have listed 5 such patriotic Bengali Films: 1. Chattogram Astragar Lunthan (1949): Released at a time when India had freshly gained independence from Imperial British rule, this film centres around the Chittagong Armoury Raid and its mastermind, Masterda (Surya Sen). Surya Sen was a local teacher who planned to raid the Armoury with his small group of students, resulting in a fatal revolt. The immortal patriotic song, "Karar Ei Louho Kopat", penned by Kazi Nazrul Islam, was used in this film. 2. Ananda Math (1951): Ananda Math is one of my favourite novels by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay...
