"F" for "Friendship"

They were sitting on the bench, watching the children play in the park. These children reminded them of how all three of them used to play the same way almost 60 years back at the same place. They used to fight over who would bat first. They argued, fought, but again assembled the next day. Now, after decades, every evening, they came here, talked for an hour, and sometimes took a stroll. But they did not miss a single day, just like before. Their topic of discussion varied from politics to theatre, from books to music, from food to families. That was not relevant; what was important was being at the same place, at the same time. It was their only time to relish their earlier days; they had changed, their surroundings had changed too, but what had remained was their bond together- unaltered and unfiltered. The dark office was now magically illuminated. The dusty table, which had suddenly become clean, was covered with papers, files, and pens—all perfectly organised. The foul smell of dead rats, dust, and cobwebs transformed into an intense musk reminiscent of how it smelled five years ago. The broken chair was somehow fixed, and someone was sitting there with their back to him. A lit cigar rested between their fingers, revealing two exotic rings—the very ones he had come here for. Was it an illusion? How could this be happening? Just a few minutes ago, he entered a deserted office. He wasn’t drunk; he had only come to dig up the wall where he had buried the body, hoping to retrieve those rings to pay off his debt. The goons were after him, and this was his last resort. The figure rose from the chair and turned to face him. He recognised him—the same man he had seen five years ago, when he shot him in the chest, piercing his heart. He could still see the wound where the heart should have ...

A Trip to Rajasthan- by Aishani Saha

A trip to Rajasthan We enjoyed our trip to Rajasthan. We reached the airport in the morning. We boarded the flight, but sadly, the plane was delayed. I sneakily took my mother’s phone and played the “Dino Game”. So basically, you click the screen to make the Dino jump. I played it the whole flight, because the game can be played offline. Jodhpur We landed in a very hot place (there were ACs, so do not worry). I was literally sweating, but I still wore my jacket (because I wanted to look cool). After a lot of time, we reached the hotel. The first thing I generally do is go and occupy the washroom before my parents. But this time I was too lazy to do it. I just changed my clothes and fell asleep. Then, when we woke up, we went and explored the most unique places in Jodhpur. The first places we went to were Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhavan.                      We went back to our hotel. My mother and I went to buy some...

The house had a peculiar shape. She had never encountered anything like it before. From the outside, it looked like a dome, but inside, it had various corners that confused her. The rooms were arranged like layers, one inside another. She kept entering room after room. In the first room, she saw a newborn baby in a cradle, crying. She didn't stop to look. The next room contained a little girl—a toddler—giggling playfully. Again, she did not stop. As she moved into the next room, she found a girl around six or seven years old, strikingly similar to the toddler from the previous room. She paused for a moment, as the child looked oddly familiar, but she brushed off the thought and proceeded to the following room. In that room, she encountered a teenager writing in a notebook. Her unkempt hair was tousled across her face, but when she looked up, the girl bore a shocking resemblance to her own teenage self. Feeling scared and confused, she hurried to the next room, where she was confron...

He sent away all his servants before sunset. His eyes had already begun to burn, and his entire body was turning pale. The moon was about to rise at any moment. The sky was clear that day, and he was waiting for the little clouds to drift away so that the full moon could reveal its glory. Finally, it appeared. His skin began to tear open, his backbone shifted, and his whole body started to grow coarse hair. A dark, furry coat covered him completely. His teeth transformed into those of a dog, and his hands morphed into forelegs. He stepped out of the house and headed toward the forest. The entire area echoed with his howl. This transformation happened once a month; it was painful, yet it was also the time when he gained his power. This post is a part of  BlogchatterA2Z Challenge 2026

Their hands brushed against each other, evoking memories of earlier times. The sea, with its enormous waves, stirred up thoughts of the past. They used to spend long, lazy evenings at this very spot, lost in conversation for hours. However, the weight of their responsibilities gradually diminished these outings until, one day, they came to a complete stop. They didn’t even realise when it happened; it just did. But today, with their children away at a picnic, they finally had a chance to be alone together after more than a decade, even if only for a few hours. This was their moment, an opportunity to focus on nothing but each other. This post is a part of  BlogchatterA2Z Challenge 2026
