Back to 80s: The New Beauty Trend of 2025

Whenever I watch any music video, films or glossy magazines from the 80s, I keep wondering how could they carry on so much of everything- loud colours, voluminous hair and excess fabric and silhouettes!! Just a throwback to the screen icons of those times, like Kim Basinger from Hollywood and Rekha or Dimple Kapadia from Bollywood and their somewhat loud statement fashion and makeup are examples of the exact Beauty trends of that era.

Although with time sleeker trends in beauty and makeup had ruled since the 90s, 2025 is yet again set to rediscover that 80s beauty trends both in fashion and makeup in a new way.

Back to 80s : New Fashion Trend of 2025

80s Beauty was all about maximalism, both in fashion and makeup. Oversized coats, extra large shirts and loose fitted trousers (baggy) were common pieces of clothing. Fabrics like silk and linen, along with tweed and corduroy were also in vogue. Similarly, the new fashion forecast of 2025 is also giving much importance to these fabric and style trends. Dresses with bold floral prints and embellishments are also coming back in style.

Bold colours, sequins and stone studded outfits with large statement earrings can be flaunted for a revival of the 80s in the new beauty trends.

Statement pieces from Vaguera, Rabanne and Schiaperelle have all sported trends from the 80s, in their new designs.

Here are some statement pieces that can be coordinated along with  the wardrobe to sport this New trend from back in the 80s.

Embellished Jacket

 Floral Silk Dress

Baggy Pants

Long Coat

Back to the 80s: New Makeup Trends of 2025

Voluminous hair, mostly permed had been an iconic style of the 80s. Whenever I think of that, the first name comes to my mind is that of Cher. This same trend is back again. Very bold lip, cheek and eyeshadow colours like purple and pink and deep burgundy were mostly flaunted by women of that era.

2025's New makeup trend too remain inspired heavily from the 80s. From berry lips to blush draping- the runway trends for makeup covered all the aspects of the 80s.

Blush Draping

Bold Pinks and Mauves

                                                                     Voluminous Curls

What is Blush Draping?

To create a contoured and lifted feature, a bold pink or mauve blush is applied generously along the cheekbones and temples. It also gives a luminous glow which makes the skin look polished.

So this is the most popular new trend of 2025, which is straight from the 80s.
